Theme problem was created by Andrew Lian
Hello

I am using the latest joomla 3.1.1 and moodle 2.4.x

This may be a problem with joomla or the theme I am using.

I am using the default protostar theme.

In fixed width mode, when I connect to moodle using the joomdle wrapper, the moodle does not extend across the full width of the screen even though I have emptied the screen from blocks in the right hand column (well I think I have - they no longer appear). The header image stays left-justified.

In liquid mode the moodle does extend across most of the width of the screen (an unfilled column remains on the right) but unless I feature an article, it still stays aligned to the header image which remains left-justified.

Does anyone have any recommendations so as to avoid these problems? Is there a joomla3 theme which is known to work well with joomdle?

Sorry if this is a simplistic question. I do not know joomla well.

Thank you
Andrew

Can you post a picture of what you are referring to. Normally Joomdle doesn't care about the theme but I have not tested Joomla 3 in great detail.

Hello Chris

Thanks for answering and my apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I have attached a graphic of the screen. You will notice that there is a column on the right which is not filled. I have removed all of the blocks/forms in that column. I wonder how to deal with this problem as I want the writing to extend all the way across.

I suspect that this is a theme problem rather than a joomdle problem. Unfortunately, I am not very familiar with joomla and joomla themes..

Any clues would be greatly appreciated.

Also do you have a favourite theme that works well with joomdle/moodle? If so please let me know and I will switch to it.

Thank you
Andrew

I am not 100% sure what the specific problem is however, it looks like you have:
- a joomla module that is published on the right but not displaying anything ie an empty module and the template is not designed to suppress blank modules, or
- your template has a fixed width not permitting content beyond

One thing you can do to isolate the problem, is to create a new Joomla menu item and have no modules published to it. For this menu link it to your moodle course.
