[Solved] Mapping Custom fields - Joomla/Moodle (Easyprofile) was created by robf
Hi there,
I'm using Joomdle 1.0, Joomla! 3.3.6, Moodle 2.7.2+ (Build: 20140925)
- I've created 2 custom text-input fields in Moodle (under "Other fields")
- I've created the same fields, and 2 additional fields for 'Country' and 'City/town' using Easyprofile editor (free version) in Joomla. These fields already exist within Moodle.
I have then tried to map these 4 using Joomdle - no luck. Easyprofile is set up as an additional data source in Joomdle, I've already tried to manually sync, and I've logged into the Joomla backend to re-save a profile (without modifying) it to see if there is any change in Moodle.
Am I doing something wrong?!
Thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob.
Did you create mappings for those 2 fields? You need to do that in Joomdle backend->mappings.

Are you using the version of the plugin I released today? It fixes an issue with field names with spaces, so if you are using old one, please upgrade and try again.
If it still does not work, try deleting all mappings but Interests and try again, to see if there is another problem with field names.

I've upgraded to v1.01 of the plugin, and there was no change. As you suggesed, I deleted all the mappings except 'Interests', and no change. Finally I tried to manually sync, and then also re-saved the profile in Joomla without modifying.
So the new fields do not show up on a Moodle profile (e.g. when you click on a user in live chat), and the fields which were already exisitng in Moodle ('city', 'country') are not affected by new information I input from Joomla/Easyprofile - i.e. If 'City/town'=Brighton in Joomla, 'city'=London in Moodle (as per original information from registration/first log in).
Hope that makes sense! Thanks!

Ok, then it must be something else, as this works fine for me and for another user at least.
At this point, only thing left is to do some debugging on your site, to try to find out what is happening. You can send credentials (joomla and moodle admin and cpanel/ssh/similar) to development@joomdle.com and I will take a look soon.

Thanks Antonio - new version (1.03) sorts the problem out!
