Event Scheduler/Calendar that works with Joomdle? was created by itgorillathailand
I would like to know if anyone knows of an event scheduler/calendar that can be used on the frontend of Joomla that references courses from Moodle?

So that user's could see the date of the courses on a calendar in Joomla that they could click on that specific Course/Date and it would bring them to the page where they could purchase/schedule themselves. And possibly one where it would show how many seats were still available by mousing over it and once the course had reached it's maximum it would "grey out" that specific date in the calendar.

Does anyone know if there is a paid or free program that can do this that works by pulling all of the information from Joomdle or Moodle?

Maybe I posted this incorrectly, but any help would be much appreciated.

Hi.

At this point, we do not provide any integration with any events component.
I rememember looking at a couple some time ago, but they were coded in a way that integration was not easy/possible, so I forgot about it.

Maybe it is time to revisit this in case things have changed. Now that this topic is in Feature Requests, I will try to take a look some day when I have time, although I don't think it will be soon.

How hard do you think it would be to create a Joomdle Module that could be used for tracking all the courses and dates? Or perhaps a module that presents the information, so that another third-party scheduler could access the data?

I think this would be a great feature for colleges and other learning institutions to allow the administration an easy way to schedule and track students. Plus students could easily see the available courses/dates, seats available, sign up, and pay.

Thanks,
Samuel Dunn

I don't know how hard that could be. For that I would need to do a lot mot research.

As this topic is in feature requests, I could take a deeper look sometime in the future.
Or, if you are really interested, you could sponsor development.

Nothing new, sorry.

As for calendar: there is a joomdle calendar module, which shows Moodle events.

thank you for reply
unfotunatly calendar is too small and there are not a lot of details in.
Is it possible to make a wrapper link to direct place in moodle (to the calendar view for examle)?
Or is it possible to show a list of events from moodle (may be with some siple filtering or searching)?
Thank you again for your support

King regards
Michal

You can use something like this to link to a specific date in calendar: index.php?option=com_joomdle&view=wrapper&moodle_page_type=event&day=21&mon=7&year=2014

Hi Antonio
Thank you for your reply.
I will try to describe what exactly is my problem.
I installed plugin called "registration" ( moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=mod_registration ) as I need to allow my students to register for exams (as we are much more "standard" school)
Events from this modul are shown in courses as well as in the moodle calendar and students who are enrolled in course.
But studens were accustomed to see a list of actul exams ans select from the time that fit best their free time.
So because of this I not need to make a link to direct day in the calendar, but to calendar itself or (and this should be the way) to show in joomla list of all events - as only events will be from this plugin.
Do you have any idea how to do that?

Michal
