Is there a way to create a menu item to show the user their certficates of completion?
Actually I am using the simplecertificate moodle module.

We currently do not have a view for that, only a module.
I guess you can create a menu item of other type, and then publish module there...it's not they nicest way, but for now that's the best you can do.
The module supports both normal Moodle certificate module, as well as simplecertificate.

I will move this topic to Feature Requests, as I think we should have a "my certificates" view as you suggest.
