Hello, We are just trying out the Joomdle project, and so far installation looks to have worked well. From what I see a very excellent product with alot of work gone into it. We will be making a donation once we have the site working correctly.

I wanted to ask a question about language recognition. In our site we will be using Joomfish component to set Joomla language. We are using the Joomfish module to set cookie for selected language and I am wondering if it would be possible to adjust code so that Moodle could recognise the language and change it to the same as Joomfish cookie?

This will save the user hitting the e-learning pages and then manually needing to select their language again.

I am happy to pay for a developers time if you think this is possible? Thank you for the help to let me know.

Hi there,

Thanks for the suggestion. We have Joomla going with Joomfish too. But as you say, it is not carried forward to Moodle.

I just wanted to quickly acknowledge your posting and let Antonio respond to the development side once he returns from his trip.

Hello, thank you for the acknowledgment, This may be something that is done in Moodle directly rather than Joomdle, but I wanted to ask so others could contribute/benefit on the forums also.

Looking forward to your reply.

hi, I am also looking forward for this improvement. I am also using JoomFish for multilanguage. I hope Joomdle can make joomfish changes also recognized by Moodle.

Thanks a lot.

hi, I found that JFusion can synchronize languages between softwares (including Joomla and Moodle). The setup is by its System-Jfusion plugin. I have tried to use Joomdle and Jfusion at the same time. That is I use Joomdle as core while I use JFusion to synchronize the language only. But there is problem as the synchronization only work in Jfusion's Moodle. (although I use the same Moodle for both)

So is it possible to refer the codes from JFusion and make a native plugin for Joomdle to synchronise the language.

hi, I just look into the web service function in Moodle. Is it possible to add a function of "edit language" to the Joomdle web service? Then assign the Joomdle role with "edit lang".

if possible, could you tell me how to write the code and config? Thank you so much!!:)

Hi. Sorry, but I had missed this thread :(

Thanks for all the info. I Will look into this when I have the time, and let you know.

I don't think this needs any new web services, as it seems more a client side that will just need some URL rewritting/cookie setting.

I took a look and it seems jfusion does not support lang sync with moodle, although it does with other software like magento.

Thanks so much. As I am not an expert in programming so I don't much about it.

But is it possible to use JoomFish to change the language of Joomla and Moodle at the same time?

I am looking forward for your help.

Thanks so much:)
