Joomdle and redShop component? was created by lightningbit
Hi,
VM is loosing on stability and credibility fast, besides Tienda, redShop is becoming one of the ecommerce components of choice for Joomla.
are there any plans to build integration with redShop component also?
redcomponent.com/redshop
or did someone already try this out? would it be feasible to "copy the tienda part and modify it for redShop" with medium php knowledge?
Thanks
L.

Hi there,
At present we do not have any plans to integrate Redshop. In fact, you are the first to enquire about it.
As for copying the Tienda part, it is highly unlikely that this would be feasible as it would have their own set of APIs. I had a quick look at Redshop (it's been a while since I last looked at it) and it wasn't obvious what the APIs were.
That said, assume there is a clear set of APIs, it should be too bad to customise Joomdle to accept RedShop if somebody wanted to sponsor the development.

thanks for the reply
if my project gets a "go ahead" I might be willing to sponsor that development (depending on the sponsor expectations of course)
let me know what your expectations for sponsoring would be

Hi again,
Pretty simple really. To start, the high level exceptions of functionality would need to be defined. This should come from your side. It could be a simple as saying, we want it to do the same as Tienda.
Then, we would need to get a copy of the component to see how to integrate with it. Assuming there is no difference between integrating with the free vs subscription versions, than using the free version should be sufficient. If there is a difference, than we would need you to supply us with the component or cost to purchase the component.
With that a scope can be agreed and quoted. In general, the three things to be agreed upon would be:
1) Scope
2) Price
3) Time frame
