[Closed] Moodle sub-categories pulled through into Hikashop was created by wirthconsulting
Hi,
I am *loving* the new v0.7 for J1.7 with the Hikashop support. Its all working great for me but I have just one feature request that would make it easier to visitors to understand the course types:
Can you allow us to either map the Moodle sub-categories to Hikashop categories OR automatically pull through the courses' sub-category into Hikashop.
For example, we have courses in 3 main categories - instructor led, self-study and free short courses.
With v0.7, you can only specify 1 main category in Hikashop to sync to so all courses are presented as 1 page. In this case they don't get to see which category each course resides in (e.g. which may have the same name but exists as both an instructor led and self service category course and has different content but the same name).
As you can see if we were able to sync the sub-categories somehow, it would be easier for visitors to understand and choose the right course.
Hoping this can become a feature soon - keep up the great work!
Cheers,
Bianca

Hi there.
We have not added this feature to keep things simpler, because you can organize your courses into categories as you wish in Hikashop.
First, all courses cgo to main category.
But you can add the courses to other categories too (leaving them also in main cat). Main category does not even need to be published, so you can show youor users the courses as you wish, you just need to do it manually in the shop.

Ah - of course!
So if we update the course from Moodle, it won't override the additional Hikashop category we added?

mmmm...
I just took a look at the code, and I think it may remove additional categories. I will put this into my TODO list to check/fix, as ideally this procedure should not remove the categories.
