[Closed] Put users in Moodle Cohort was created by Sam Stegers
Hello all,

As you all know, Moodle now has the possibility to put users in Cohorts. This enables you to use the cohort sync enrol plugin to create a kind of curricula (sync all users in a cohort to multiple Moodle courses)

I think it would be very useful if you could "enrol" Joomdle users in Moodle cohorts. Manually would be a very good start.

Hope to hear from others if this would be a nice new feature.

Regards,

Sam

Yes I think this would be a nice addition to the features. Perhaps a cohort could also made to a Joomla group, forum or jomsocial group. I can see the cohort having a closed user group forum for conversations and project work outside of the actual coursework.

Thanks for your feedback

My thought is that it would be a group sync to cohort plugin, similar to JMapMyLdap's group sync from LDAP plugin. You would be able to tell it what group would sync to what cohort. I would be happy with one way (from Joomdle to Moodle) but others might benefit from a two way sync.
In my situation I am using Moodle to share content with teachers. If those teachers are members of our organization, they should have access to all content on Moodle. However, I will have some Joomla registered users that are not members of our organization and they should not be able to access our Moodle content. If I can just sync my Joomla Organization members group to a cohort that I then enrol in every course, this would allow me to give easy content access to our members and also restrict access to nonmembers.
Would love to contribute but we are a K12 organization with no funding - :( - however I would be very willing to help in testing or anything I can...

Hi Emma.

Are you still interedted in this? I did some playing and I have built a component+plugin to allow joomla group to moodle cohort sync, like you describe I think.

If you want to try it out, please write to antonio@joomdle.com. I'd love to have your input.
