If you get the same response / behaviour for non courses, then this would suggest that it is a Tienda configuration issue. Perhaps there is similar issues posted in the Tienda forum?

We have a similar senerio. We offer free courses with an option to add continuing education credits. I've been struggling to get this to work with Moodle 2.x and Tienda. Finally got it going. One thing that put us off was that it is required that available courses Must be available in the category id selected in the Joomdle config. We were thinking that config item was only to tell Joomdle where to place new courses. We found that if you move the course out of that category, automatic registration to the course in Moodle breaks.

You can see what we've done here. www.spaclique.com/spa-i-university-home.html

I remember that the single page check out gave us a problem.

Also we found that Virtumart will not handle zero balance checkouts. It won't initiate the trigger Joomdle needs to add the user to a course. Too bad too because unless you are willing to to part with $99 a month, support from Tienda is not to be had.

Hope that helps.

That did the trick. Everything was wrong with the single page checkout. Once I turned that off, adding an account was fixed, adding the terms and conditions check box was fixed and now we can "purchase" a free account.

Thank you so much.

Thanks very much for offering your solution. Perhaps there is something we can do in Joomdle to help ease this. I will leave this to the expert to advise.

I have free courses set up in a Tienda/Joomdle/Moodle environment with 2.0.x Moodle which works fine with SSO when using paid courses.

When using the free courses the user is asked to choose a payment gateway and then it is automatically chosen (preumably due to the zero balance) and an order sheet is available. The user is never added to the course, however.

I am assuming that the zero balance means that the trigger, whatever that might be, is not being fired for adding the user to the Moodle course.

Any suggestions?

Ruth

It works for me with the same set up you described. Make sure the courses you offer are in the Tienda category set in the Joomdle config. They can be in others as well be must be in that one.

Hi Ruth.

As Brian says, this should work fine.

Can you check your Moodle course to see if the user are actually being enroled but with zero enrolment duration?
I found a bug this week in latest build, which can lead to that.
