I'm just using the Standard (nothing fancy) template and using Moodle in a wrapper. My attempt to upgrade from Moodle 2.3.2 to 2.6.x failed miserably, including having to call the web hosting company to get the database restored. We were waiting until Leslie comes back to town to attempt the upgrade in 2 steps. This is a live site with people logged on almost all the time, so taking the website down for a day to perform the upgrades is difficult at best.
We've had a lot of difficulty with this combination of software from the start, especially the bundle functionality, even when we weren't a few Moodle versions behind. If I don't get this working, Leslie will abandon the project completely, and my 2,000 hours of work on it over 18 months will be for naught.
Nabil, I'm glad to hear that your installation is working well. Do you do bundles?

ohh I would definitely clone the Moodle site and experiment on that.
docs.moodle.org/22/en/Moodle_migration
Or install a clean moodle install and just experiment with that using a clone of your Joomla site (akeebabackup is my BFF
). This way if it works, then it may suggest an issue with your moodle install.
That would be a real shame if the plug got pulled your project! I've put in alot of time into my site as well ( www.thedeeninstitute.com ), so can understand how you would feel. If authorise.net is working fine, why do you need to keep Paypal?
Just as a thought, how about you enable the Paypal enrollment in Moodle and try to buy a course from Joomla using the Paypal button on a Joomdle course item?
If that works successfully then it could suggest its an issue with hikashop. If not then maybe a Joomdle issue on the Moodle side of things?
We will do bundles for recordings of on-demand courses. Waiting to built our collection up. Also considering using Payplans for subscriptions.

Indeed, I was hoping that a Moodle upgrade with a Hikashop upgrade with the Joomdle upgrade would sort everything out. I have a decent Internet connection now (didn't until recently) so copying 17,000 files to "clone" a site was a feat in itself. I'm very handy with Amazon EC2s, but using them introduces an additional layer of complexity -- been there, tried that.
So it's pay for a separate hosting plan on the same host and spend the very small amount of spare time I have experimenting, or keep working on the setup we have.
We use Authorize.net because we sell other things on that site besides Moodle courses, and despite the fact that you can pay with a credit card on PayPal, not everyone reads instructions closely. So we have both.
I like using XCloner for my backups, in case you haven't tried that one.
I'll report back here on our progress.
