Thanks for the info.

I tested on a local Moodle 3.0 installation, and I got the same result as you: Moodle is creating Joomdle folders with permissions=777, and all files with permissions=666.
I did some googling, but could only find this:
moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=322109

I tested installing a block in Moodle, and could see that permissions are also set this way.

I will try to do some debugging, to see if I can understand why it happens.

Thanks for checking further and for the heads up. Notably I found this line in moodle's config.php... "$CFG->directorypermissions = 0777;" I'm pretty sure this isn't what they meant :o)

Wow, it's alredy been 4 months... I was thinking more like 2 :)

Anyway, I did some follow up on this problem and finally added the issue to Moodle tracker, to see if we can get more ino.
