Joomdle Plugin cannot be found error was created by John Eberl
I copied the unzipped files to documents/auth/joomdle where documents is the folder for Moodle 2.3.3

I went to notifications after and attempted the install of the plugin.

However, now I get the error in plugins/Manage....

Manage authentication
Authentication plugin joomdle not found.

Where are things going wrong? Is it not compatible with this version of Moodle?

Added information... I think it is showing up in Plugins overview as [pluginname,auth_tempunzip] even though the files are expanded on the server.

you should have all the plugin files in /moodle/auth/joomdle
Re-check that you don't have a repeated joomdle folder, or something like that

I have a different domain with a successful install in the same hosting but it is not in the same install of Moodle. I did try to delete the Joomdle folder and copy it in again, but this did no good. My install of Moodle is in a folder called Documents, if that could make a difference.

That should make no difference.

Hi, so, I placed the THREE zipped files of Moodle 2.0 version into moodle/auth/joomdle Then I extracted them..

Well, there ended up being two directories under the /joomdle instead of three... as automatic extraction of two of the plugins created ONE joomdle directory for two different plugins (both happened to have the same name)...

SO, I decided to extract and rename THREE different directories under the /joomdle/ according to the names of the plugins...

so this way:

moodle/auth/joomdle/Plugin_1/
moodle/auth/joomdle/Plugin_2/
moodle/auth/joomdle/Plugin_3/

But moodle wouldn't pick up on them this way UNLESS I put files under moodle/auth/joomdle/ (without the PLUGIN_x subdirectories)... BUT THIS WAY as I said some of the plugins would have over-written each other as they have same subdirectory names!

Also another problem was that moodle kept saying missing Joomdle_auth plugin...

So I do NOT know how to install these plugins appropriately.

Can you please help me exactly how I should extract so that moodle can pick up on these three files and so that the three files don't over-write each other!

Thanks

Ali

Each Joomdle plugin must go in its place (auth plugin in auth folder, enrol plugin in enrol folder....)
Only mandatory one is the auth plugin. It needs to be moodle/auth/joomdle

thanks for the reply.

I did that. now I get the following errors from the system check in joomdle (all else is fine):

Moodle to Joomla HTTP connectivity Moodle cannot connect to Joomla
Joomdle Web Services Joomla URL seems to be misconfigured in Joomdle auth plugin in Moodle

What should I do! I double checked everything... I don't believe I missed anything!

The ONLY one thing is originally I had the moodle as a subdirectory.... as in:

moodle.domain.com THEN I changed to domain.com/moodle and made sure everywhere is like this in config of moodle, joomdle, and the plugin joomdle.... and I still get this

At some one during my trials and errors I got it all right!! but I had mess up on my plugin installation of the enrol and the other one, and so I deleted all and restarted.. now I can't get it right anymore!

does it matter by any chance if the moodle was a subdirectory?

I'd appreciate help in this. thanks and happy holidays.

Moodle in subfolder is fine.

The error indicates a problem to connect from Moodle to Joomla.
Check here for possible reasons:
