Joomdle is mis-configured in Joomla and Moodle was created by professional it solutions
Hi

We have installed Joomla 1.5.26 and moodle 1.9.10. To integrate joomla and moodle we install and configured Joomdle R0.9 downloaded from Joomdle.com.

After configured 'General Configurations' when look into the 'System Check' under joomdle control panel we found following checks as true:
XMLRPC PHP Extension
PHP error reporting
Joomla Web services
Joomdle XMLRPC Plugin enabled
Joomdlehooks User Plugin enabled
Allow URL fopen

But 'Joomdle Web Services' is not stated as true:

And shows an error i.e. 'You need to add your site IP to Moodle XML-RPC trusted hosts list'.

I have also gone through the documentation available on www.joomdle.com/wiki/System_health_check and do -
*enabled the Joomdle auth plugin in Moodle Admin->Users->Authentication->Manage Authentication
*enabled Moodle Networking in Moodle Admin->Networking->Settings
*added site IP to the Moodle trusted XML-RPC hosts list, in Moodle Admin->Networking->XML-RPC Hosts

But still the error is not been figured out.

If any one have idea please update the post.

Regards

shikhar

Are you sure you are entering the right IP? That error can only mean that Joomla IP is not in the list.

Hi,

I checked it at moodle and added my IP# 65.254.248.129/32 for joomla site www.indusacademics.com but still it is not working and it seems that we are missing something. :(

Please guide us to resolve it.

Thanks,

shikhar

It seems your site is using a different ip for internal communication.
You can try adding 0.0.0.0/0 to see if that works.
That may give you the real IP used in the system check.

I tried by adding 0.0.0.0/0 but no luck.

Please note that when we install Joomdle R0.9 in Joomla1.5.26 it installed 4 plugins as per following:

System - Joomdlesession
System - Joomdletienda
User - Joomdlehooks
Xmlrpc - Joomdle

All of them are 'Enabled'.

As stated in the attached image the 'Xmlrpc - Joomdle' plugin has a field under 'Plugin Parameter' asking for Moodle IP address Value set as 0 (Zero). Please confirm if it is necessary to set this field with IP address of our moodle site.

Thanks,

shikhar

If with 0.0.0.0/0 you get the same error, I don't know what the problem is, as I never saw that behavior.

Entered ip in xmlrpc plugin is not related to this error.

We have installed Moodle1.9.10 under our web root directory i.e. professionalitin.fatcow.com/indusliveclasses/ .

Under Joomdle configuration settings we've set this url instead of registering a domain as 'Moodle URL'.

Please confirm if it is causing the errormatic behavior?

Thanks,

shikhar

That is fine, as you are getting an error from Moodle, it is connecting fine to it. But for some reason, it does not work. As I said, I never saw it not working when adding 0.0.0.0/0

We checked at Moodle 'Notifications' and it is showing the following message:

Your site configuration might not be secure. Please make sure that your dataroot directory (/hermes/waloraweb082/b166/moo.professionalitin/indusliveclasses/moodledata) is not directly accessible via web.

The cron.php maintenance script has not been run for at least 24 hours. Help with Installation (new window)

Please note we have't yet registered any domain for our Moodle installation. We are accessing using our host root path i.e. professionalitin.fatcow.com/indusliveclasses
