Have you tried with the current version of Moodle? As we do not have Moodle 2.0 installed, it would really be guess work at this time. Also, I understand 2.0 has changes to both the authentication and networking environments??

If that is where you are getting your errors there is a good chance this good be the reason. I have installed it on 1.9 many many times without failure at this stage. The believe the Moodle 2.0 documentation mentions there are changes to the authentication system. I suggest you try it on 1.9 and get that working. Once that is OK repeat with 2.0 if you must and compare the results.

You can get it from your server host. The ip on which your domain is set.
You can try to set your xml-rpc host as xxx.xxx.xxx.0/0.

You can do it without going to source file. You just log in as admin in moodle and go to
* Administration ► Networking ► XML-RPC hosts and enter a list of IP addresses or networks.
