Sorry, what it won't work there, as Joomdle does not use the PEAR packages, but the native PHP one.
I saw that happening to one client, and he finally moved to another hosting company.
Hola Antonio,
Unfortunately, XML-RPC PHP extension is not installed on the server nor its possible to install it. The installation of the module causes the server to unstable. Since its a shared server, we won't be able to install it.
Thank you for your understanding.
Kind Regards

Unfortunately, xml-rpc can't be enabled on the server, hence as far as we know, there are some pear modules that could help. Pear has also a very powerful search engine to search for xml-plugins as well.

What hosting companies do provide the xmlprc extension to allow Moodle 2 et al to work to their full potential?

We usually work with Hostgator, and so far we never had any problems.
If you follow this link to get your hosting there, you will be helping the Joomdle project.
Thanks!

php5-xmlrpc XML-RPC module for php5
and
php-xml-rpc PHP implementation of the XML-RPC protocol
it seems that the second (which I installed first) is the pear one. You need php5-xmlrpc.
(Not much help if the host will not install it though)
