[Solved] Error when installing RO.24

I have uninstalled r0.23 from joomla and trying to install RO.24 version. I am getting this error when installing
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 20971520 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 261183 bytes) in ///libraries/joomla/filesystem/archive/zip.php on line 310
using the extensions installer.
I retried RO. 23 and that version installs with no issues.

Any idea how to get round this although I suppose I may have to do it manually

Are you installing the joomdle-joomla-package.zip archive?

Yes I am installing from that- unpacked download and installing joomdle-joomla-package.zip

It seems strange for me that R0.23 installs ok and R0.24 consumes all memory, as installation only includes a couple of new elements: calendar module and sesion plugin.

Also, I see the error happens in the zip.php, what suggests the problem happends when uncompressing the file. Weird, as I would guess there are lots of components bigger than this that would install just fine... did you have any similar problems with other extensions before?

I couldn't agree with you more. I would have thought it was okay too. I haven't as yet had the same problem with anything else so far
Virtuemart installed okay.
I will try again later it could be an issue with my ISP of course....

Try re-downloading, just in case the file has something corrupt, although it does not seem probable

I tried that earlier redownloaded and retried - but to no avail.

I don't know what the problem may be, but it would not be a lot of work to install every component/module/plugin separately.

You would just need to zip every folder in the joomdle-joomla-package archive and install them one by one.

Maybe that could even give us a hint on why the error is happening.

I have tried to remove some from the zip file but that didn't work either so I'll try your suggestion to do it the other way round - cheers , will let you know the outcome but before I do I'm going to try an install on another Joomla site I have.

tried installing on another site and am getting the same error (it is the same ISP though).
when zipping up each folder is the procedure to unzip joomdle-joomla-package and then zip up each folder separately. Do I need to add anything to each zipped folder for them to install in joomla extensions?
