Chris,

Please take a look www.mysite.com/index.php/joomdle

What do we learn from being able to see the moodle courses in my joomla?

What should I look at test next?

Thanks for your feedback guys.

OK. Here we have it. The solution to my problem, (so others might like to try this). Should I write this in any documentation for others to follow?

On our server we have security rules that block xmlrpc activity even though xmlrpc web services between the Joomla and moodle were activated. Our server techs have just disabled about 50 xmlrpc rules and after I then ran the joomdle system check all status was green.

I'll now go and try and use joomdle and hopefully will receive no error messages.

Glad to hear peterward's problem is solved however I still have the problem. I have now done the following since last post:

1. Contacted my host and they have set my php.ini up as needed for moodles configuration. (I sent all errors posted earlier and they assured me that they worked out what was needed for this)
2. WIped the last install of Joomdle and Moodle and started everything from ground zero.
3. I followed each instruction step by step to the T.

All said and done, still have a big fat RED X for Joomdle Web Services.

URLS are proper and I can't for the life of me understand what the trouble is. :silly:

Please let one rain drop hit me on this, please....

Are moodle webservices enabled ?
Is XML-RPC enabled in moodle ?
Is the moodle user enabled in the Joomdle webservice and has enough rights to use XML-RPC?

If you are using Joomla 1.5 you need to enable webservices in Joomla.

Hi Fernando and thanks for the fast reply.

Webservices in Moodle are enabled.
XML-RPC in Moodle is enabled.

It seems the moodle user is enabled. I created a user in Moodle and gave webservice priveldges and XML-RPC. In the Users section of the Joomdle compontent in Joomla backend I see 3 green check marks for Joomla, Joomdle and Moodle.

And lastly, web services is enabled in Joomla..

Fingers are crossed for some clarity here...

Peter: Good to know it is working. Where (what program, file) did you disable those rules?

Will: as we told you, it seems your PHP installation is having problems, so that is something outside Joomdle you need to fix first (maybe contacting your hosting provider)

Hi Antonio,

I posted this reply earlier regarding my having contacted my host and them altering the php.ini as needed for Moodle. They seemed to know what to do and were familiar with the issue. At this point I feel I have done all I can and at a brick wall. Am I done for on this? I don't know what else I could tell my hosting provider to look for since my phpinfo page looks good according to what is needed for Moodle and Joomdle standards...

What are my alternatives to finding a solution here?

A php.ini with the right settings doesn't means PHP is well installed.

Ask tech support to reinstall and verify all the extensions are working well, and then restart Apache to apply the changes (this is an obvious step but sometimes missed)

Then verify moodle runs alone without problems and also Joomla. Once verified this step, add Joomdle.
